Welcome to our website.

Specializing in Power Factor Correction (PFC), PowerBank Canada began in 1988.

power factor correction, power factor capacitors, pfc capacitors, phase converters, rotophase converters

We are the exclusive Ontario agent for Arco Electric Products, an ISO 9001:2000 company that has been manufacturing our CSA approved PFC capacitors since 1964 servicing all of Canada.

As electricity rates continue to rise and represent a significant portion of the capital cost of doing business, energy management has become a very important concern.  Understanding power factor and how it affects your company's electrical bill can help control and reduce electricity costs and conserve.

What is Power Factor?
Larger power consumers have three meters to measure their power usage.  A kilowatt-hour (kwh) meter measures the consumption and two " demand" meters that measure kilowatt-voltage-amperes - kva (apparent power) and kilowatts - kw (real power).  PF is the kw amount divided by the kva amount i.e. kw/kva.

These meters are read monthly and then reset.  These readings are shown on your hydro bill and the charges are based accordingly.

A power factor (PF) reading below 90% indicates that the operating equipment is wasting excessive electrical power and the user is penalized financially every month for this wastage.

We improve the "power factor" to correct this problem.

FREE EVALUATION STUDY & COMPLETE REPORT

PowerBank Canada will put together and present a written report based upon your company's electrical performance and usage. This report will show by month, your power consumption (kwh), power factor, load factor, line current reduction, improved transformer capacity, conservation and TOTAL FINANCIAL SAVINGS
.

Learn the causes of Low Power Factor and How to Correct this problem.
